The Social Investment Guide is an Australian-first, a guide for emerging philanthropists and businesses to participate in transformational philanthropy.

The first release, available both online and as a printed guide book, features 23 projects from non-profit organisations across 7 issue areas. Effectively a ‘giving guide’, the Social Investment Guide is for wealthy individuals, families and all types of businesses who seek to invest in social change and, at the same time, engage meaningfully with projects, social entrepreneurs and communities through giving.

Greenstone Group created the Social Investment Guide in response to the emerging philanthropist's call.  They told us they didn’t know where to find change making projects.

The Social Investment Guide is a starting-point for our growing community of emerging philanthropists and is a way to connect donors with projects. It is anticipated that once new donors have funded projects individually or collaboratively with others, they will consider establishing foundations or trusts.  If a foundation already exists, they will become more effective givers.

Greenstone's role is to conduct the due diligence of all the projects featured in the Guide as well as conduct the external evaluation, review and reporting back to donors. Doing it this way is beneficial for the non profit partner as well as the philanthropist.  All of our donors have the opportunity to engage in each project, they can participate in review and evaluations to widen their understanding of issues and non profit partners are able to give transparent, relevant and timely information on project outcomes through Greenstone as an independent intermediary.  We are excited about the possibilities for partnership from this model.

We believe this guide can inspire and transform how we give in Australia.  We hope it inspires and transforms the lives of donors, our non profit partners and most importantly the lives of those who are served through the investments made in these featured projects.
